Healthcare Design-Build Firm Marshall Erdman Plans New Headquarters

08/17/2006

MADISON, Wis. -- Marshall Erdman & Associates, one of the nation’s largest healthcare design-build firms, has partnered with a local real estate developer, George Gialamas, to design and build a new corporate headquarters in Madison. The 132,000-square-foot building will be the centerpiece of the 500-acre Old Sauk Trails Park, the city’s foremost office park, developed by the Gialamas Company.

Marshall Erdman’s five-story facility will feature an elegant glass and stone façade reflecting the 55-year-old company’s evolving mission and customer-focused approach. Toward that end, the building will apply for LEED certification, becoming one of the few facilities in Madison that strives for the highest level of sustainable design. This goal aligns with and supports the city’s greening mission.

Offering integrated services from advance planning to design-build to project development, the company headquarters have been located at 5117 University Ave. for more than five decades. Marshall Erdman’s design-build team has designed and will construct the new facility, creating a building with clean lines in a classic, elegant style that transcends the traditional and the expected.

The headquarters pay tribute to Marshall Erdman’s heritage while embodying a progressive new era of growth and development and rapidly expanding success in new market segments. Scott Ransom, president and CEO of the company, explains, “We wanted to create a strong sense of the legacy and magic of Marshall Erdman & Associates, demonstrating how we have evolved from a product-based company to a customer-focused, market-driven company that enhances our healthcare clients’ businesses.”

The company’s decision to continue its commitment to Madison business and build its headquarters locally came earlier this year when the venture between Marshall Erdman and Gialamas solidified. “It’s two fine companies joining together in the finest office park in the state,” Gialamas comments. “I’ve had admiration and respect for the Erdman Company for a very long time, and we’re extremely happy to have them represented in this park.”

The venture will break ground later this summer and the facility will be completed in the early fall of 2007.

“With employee retention and recruitment so important to our business, we want to create a more collaborative, productive and energized environment that expresses our brand of knowledge and the value we bring to our healthcare partners,” Ransom says.
