ASC Community Suggests Revisions to Web-based ASC Information for Medicare Beneficiaries

In a letter dated Sept. 27, 2006 to Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, members of the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) community thanked CMS for making pricing for ambulatory surgical services more transparent for Medicare beneficiaries, stating, “We believe posting reimbursement information for some of the more common ambulatory surgical procedures on the CMS Web site on Aug. 21, 2006 was a positive first step.”

The letter also made several suggestions that the ASC community believed could improve the usefulness of the cost information that is being made available to Medicare beneficiaries on the CMS Web site. To read this letter, click HERE.
