Meridian Acquires Brookside Surgery Center

Meridian Surgical Partners, LLC acquired a majority interest in BrooksideSurgeryCenter in Battle Creek, Mich. The 11,500-square-foot multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center (ASC) has three operating rooms and two procedure rooms. In the past 12 months, over 4,000 outpatient surgical cases have been performed at the center including orthopedic, ophthalmology, plastic, otolaryngology, general surgery, and pain management.

“Partnering with BrooksideSurgeryCenter is very exciting for us,” said David F. “Buddy” Bacon, Jr., chief executive officer of Meridian Surgical Partners. “We are extremely optimistic about the growth opportunities for the center and look forward to working with our new physician partners to provide the best outpatient surgical care possible.”

Dr. John Koziarski, a physician partner and board member of Brookside Surgery Center, added, “Our new partnership with Meridian will help us make strides in achieving our full potential as a premier provider of outpatient surgical services in the Calhoun County area.”

Brookside Surgery Center is fully accredited by the state and has obtained its state license to provide outpatient surgical services. It has also been approved by Medicare as a recognized provider facility.

Located in Battle Creek, Mich. in CalhounCounty, BrooksideSurgeryCenter opened in 1997. Battle Creek is approximately 50 miles southwest of Lansing. The center is comprised of 13 physician owners and operates within a medical office building.
