Amkai Launches Freedom II Upgrade Plan

Attractive Pricing through September Eases Path for Surgery Centers to Replace Legacy Management Systems

07/10/2008

WATERBURY, Conn. — Amkai announced today the successful completion on July 4 of its Freedom Upgrade promotional campaign and the simultaneous launch of the “Freedom II” program. Like its predecessor, Freedom II minimizes upfront capital investment for surgery centers seeking to replace legacy administrative systems with AmkaiOffice™. Created by the team which developed the popular AdvantX™ software, AmkaiOffice provides comprehensive information management for the business functions of scheduling, demographics, preference cards, inventory management, billing and more.

Freedom II Upgrade has two components to acquire AmkaiOffice:

  • An initial setup charge of $12,500 for implementation and training
  • An annual subscription fee that covers the software license, software upgrades, and ongoing support

This approach avoids the kind of large financial outlay typically associated with a software system purchase. Based on its analyses, Amkai believes that in most cases the annual subscription will be the same or less as the customer’s current legacy system annual support costs.

The Freedom II Upgrade plan is a limited time offer. Orders must be placed by Sept. 30 to qualify for the program.

Additional financial incentives have also been developed for those customers who purchase AmkaiCharts™, the company’s electronic medical record software, at the same time as ordering AmkaiOffice. This additional promotional offer is valid until Aug. 15. The combined solution of AmkaiCharts and AmkaiOffice offers surgery centers a comprehensive information management system that integrates the administrative and clinical sides of the business.

“Many facilities were unable to take advantage of the introductory Freedom plan in the time frame of that program,” said Don Fallati, senior vice president of marketing for Amkai. “We have devised an alternative for them that preserves many of the attractive components of the original promotion.”
