CMS PQRI PowerPoint Presentation Now Available

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has available on its Web site the PowerPoint presentation that was used during the May 28 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) national provider call.

The presentation provides an overview of the establishment of alternative reporting periods and alternative criteria for satisfactorily reporting quality measures for the 2008 PQRI as authorized by the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA) which was enacted on December 29, 2007.

In addition, the presentation includes a detailed discussion of the measures groups, and how to successfully initiate measures group reporting.
