BIRMINGHAM, Ala. and LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- SourceMedical, a leading provider of outpatient information management solutions, and ZirMed, one of the nation’s premier revenue cycle management firms, have formed a revolutionary partnership which provides healthcare providers much greater control of their revenue cycle. SourceMedical’s facility management and electronic health record solutions utilize workflow adaptive technology and clinical best practices to streamline administrative and clinical processes for more than 6,000 therapy and surgery centers nationwide. Complementing SourceMedical’s information management services, ZirMed provides a Web-based suite of provider-focused revenue cycle management solutions designed to increase cash flow and reduce administrative inefficiencies. In response to the ever-changing provider dynamics and consumer sensitive business practices, ZirMed’s Solutions now encompass financial services and e-commerce capabilities in addition to traditional healthcare EDI transactions. The enhanced relationship allows ZirMed to seamlessly integrate EDI and financial service transactions with SourceMedical’s industry leading software to create a complete information and revenue cycle management solution. Since finalizing the agreement in July, more than 250 SourceMedical customers have experienced the efficiency gains and workflow enhancements made possible by this unique partnership. The companies forecast that more than 3,200 sites will be on-line in the near future. “Our new partnership with ZirMed allows clients to manage the life of a claim from submission to remittance and auto-posting,” said Ralph Riccardi, president and COO of SourceMedical’s Therapy Division. “Partnering with ZirMed opens up access to thousands of payers with one source,” added Scott Palmer, president and COO of SourceMedical’s Surgery Division. “Both SourceMedical and ZirMed follow a customer-centric, solution-oriented philosophy. The level of integration and coordination advanced by this relationship offers healthcare providers greater control over their revenue cycle. The inclusion of financial services and enhanced reporting offers them greater control over their business,” said Jim Lacy, ZirMed’s chief financial officer and general counsel.
